Bethanie is an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
As Bethanie is an integrative counsellor; this means that clients will lead the sessions while she uses her knowledge and various techniques from different therapeutic approaches. This is tailored to each client, to allow for meaningful change in their lives as everyone is unique.
The sessions with Bethanie will be held in a safe, judgement-free, and confidential space where she will work together with clients to reach their goals. Whether it’s being heard, to gain self-insight, or clarity on a situation.
Bethanie has worked with clients who feel overwhelmed, unsure how to deal with life transitions, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, and other stresses. Bethanie is passionate about supporting clients with these issues and has experience with clients who have presented these issues.

Theoretical framework:
Bethanie believes each client is unique and therefore counselling should be tailored to the support each client needs to have a positive therapeutic change; however, it looks for each client. Additionally, Bethanie believes in a strong therapeutic relationship to aid in positive therapeutic change, so will work with each client collaboratively at their pace. Feeling safe and trusting takes time, so Bethanie will work with each client at their pace to reach their goals.
In the sessions Bethanie will predominately use Person-Centred therapy, alongside the psychodynamic approach and the systemic approach if/when they are useful. Person-centred counselling helps clients to become their true self, gaining self-awareness and independence. The psychodynamic approach helps clients to understand their past conflicts and become more self-aware. Systemic therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on clients in the context of their relationships with others.
