Sam is an empathic counsellor who offers you a confidential, safe space to explore your feelings and emotions that are perhaps impacted by past/present life challenges. Sam welcomes you with authenticity and a sense of compassion where judgment is left behind.

Reflecting on her own qualifications, professional training and real-life experience, Sam recognises and acknowledges the many challenges life can bring. Sam believes that the therapeutic journey can bring you, the client, to a greater understanding of self, which in turn offers potential solutions that are right for you, the individual.

Sam has many years of experience within the NHS, specialist counselling work for charities and private practice. Sam is also a lecturer in Therapeutic Counselling at her local education centre.

Sam is able to assist with a range of challenges including:

  • Depression/Low Mood
  • Low Self Esteem/self worth
  • Relationship difficulties including separation/divorce
  • Childhood Trauma
  • Family issues
  • Anxiety
  • Grief/Bereavement/Loss

Sam has a particular interest in adults that survive childhood trauma, such as divorce, domestic violence and boarding school syndrome, appreciating the difficulties these experiences bring and the impact on you as an adult.

In addition, Sam understands the deep sense of confusion, loss and darkness that grief can bring, whether this is bereavement and/or the loss of a relationship.

Sam’s counselling style is grounded in the person-centred approach, appreciating you as the most important person in the room. Sam believes in the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship and strives to work toward this with you.
