Karina Fulton works with adults, children, and young people aged 10 and above. She offers a warm, caring, and confidential approach, where clients are met without judgment. Karina deeply respects all differences—cultural, religious, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, and additional needs—and creates a space where individuals feel genuinely seen and supported.
Work with Adults (18+)
Karina is a pluralistic therapist, meaning her approach is person-centred while drawing from a range of therapeutic models. She is committed to working in a way that feels right for each individual. Life can be challenging, and there are times when support is needed to navigate difficult periods or unprocessed experiences. Karina provides a nurturing, supportive space to help clients reconnect with themselves and move toward the change they are seeking.
In sessions, she works collaboratively to raise self-awareness and explore new ways forward. Depending on the client’s needs and preferences, she may integrate modalities such as Talking Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mindfulness, Relaxation Techniques, and Hypnotherapy. Above all, she prioritises approaches that feel safe and comfortable for the individual.
Karina supports clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:
- Relationship difficulties
- Childhood trauma
- Bereavement
- Work/life balance
- Workplace stress
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Phobias
- Low self-esteem and confidence
She welcomes enquiries to discuss how she can support your wellbeing.
Work with Children and Young People (10+)
Karina brings extensive experience from her background in education, offering young clients a unique perspective as both a counsellor and a former teacher. With over 30 years in primary education and 14 years as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), she understands the emotional and developmental challenges children face—particularly within school environments.
She has also worked in secondary schools and with children’s charities, providing counselling to young people with a wide range of needs. Her deep understanding of school-related pressures helps her to create a compassionate and safe space for children and teenagers to express themselves.
Young people may struggle to understand or articulate their emotions, and their behaviours may not always have an obvious cause. Karina supports them in exploring these feelings, discovering underlying issues, and developing healthy coping strategies.
Areas she commonly works with include:
- School anxiety
- Emotional difficulties
- Exam and SATs stress
- Friendship and peer relationship issues
- Communication challenges
- Low self-esteem and confidence
Karina offers a warm and tailored approach to support young people in navigating their inner world, helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered.
