Janaya is a warm, approachable, and dedicated counsellor and holistic therapist who offers a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space for clients to feel heard and understood. She works with compassion and authenticity, helping clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them.
Janaya supports children, young people, adults, and families, tailoring her approach to suit each individual’s unique needs and stage of life. She works with a range of concerns including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, emotional wellbeing challenges, life transitions, identity and self-discovery, emotional regulation, and personal growth. Her practice is both trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, and she integrates mindfulness and holistic wellbeing approaches to support the whole person.
With a strong background in supporting children, young people, and families, Janaya has experience across education, residential care, community settings, youth justice, mentoring, and holistic wellbeing environments. She is a registered member of both the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and works in line with their ethical frameworks to ensure a safe, respectful, and professional service.
Therapeutic Approach:
Janaya works from a pluralistic approach, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all method in therapy. She believes that a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful change, and works collaboratively with clients to create a space that feels safe, empowering, and tailored to their individual journey.
She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, adapting each session to meet her clients’ needs and goals. These may include CBT-informed techniques, person-centred therapy, psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness-based practices, solution-focused therapy, grounding techniques, emotional regulation strategies, and psychoeducation where helpful. Her holistic perspective recognises the connection between mind, body, and emotional wellbeing, allowing her to support clients in a balanced and integrated way.
