Therapeutic Approach
Ahmana is an integrative, BACP-registered counsellor who offers a warm, non-judgmental space for you to explore your experiences and how you have been impacted by them. She draws on different counselling approaches, e.g. Person-centred, Gestalt, CBT and Psychodynamic, to find what works best for you in this collaborative process. Ahmana does not view counselling as a ‘one size fits all’ but instead works with you as a unique individual without making assumptions.
Ahmana’s practice is characterised by a calm, grounded space and an empathetic and client-led approach. There is no pressure to have everything ‘figured out’ before you come to counselling. Ahmana invites you to come as you are and use the space to consider subjects such as your experiences, priorities, relationships and beyond in the context of your past, present and future. Working with different adult populations (e.g. students, elderly and chronically ill individuals) has allowed Ahmana to develop a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practice.
Ahmana would work with you as a client to:
- Support you in learning more about yourself, increasing your self-awareness and moving you towards a more authentic version of yourself
