Are You Suffering from Stress?
Sometimes you might be able to tell away right away if you’re under stress. But other times, you might keep going without recognising the signs. Understanding the signs and symptoms of stress can be a great place to start and to ensure you get the support you need.
Stress can have emotional and physical impacts on your life. The exact symptoms can vary widely and sometimes resemble those caused by some medical conditions.
Some of the emotional symptoms of stress include:
- Feeling overwhelmed or like you’re losing control
- Becoming easily frustrated, moody or agitated
- Having difficulty relaxing and quieting your mind
- Avoid others
- Feeling bad about yourself or having a low self-esteem
There are also physical symptoms of stress which include:
- Insomnia
- Frequent colds and infections
- Excess sweating
- Cold or sweaty feet and hands
- Loss of sexual drive
- Headaches
- Low energy
- Aches, pains and tense muscles
- Grinding teeth and clenched jaw
- Dry mouth and difficulty swallowing

There are different ways to manage stress and My Solution Wellbeing has counsellors that can walk you through the process and help you to determine the best option for you.
Talking to our professionals about the challenges and difficulties you are experiencing can help you understand any underlying issues that may be causing your stress. This will help us identify your personal stress triggers and help you determine ways of coping with them.
One of our stress counselling approaches is mindfulness. This is an approach that helps you focus your attention on the present instead of worrying about the past or future events. Through mindfulness, we encourage you to notice how your body is feeling and how the thoughts come and go.
We also provide other forms of counselling and therapies to people struggling with stress. Contact our team of trained counsellors to understand more about our stress counselling.
