What is Mindfulness Practice?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. And there’s growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodelling the physical structure of your brain

Anyone can do mindfulness practice. There are no barriers. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your physical ability is, if you’re religious or not…

Mindfulness is not obscure or exotic. It’s familiar to us because it’s what we already do, how we already are. It takes many shapes and goes by many names.

We all already have the capacity to be present, and it doesn’t require us to change who we are. But we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practices that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit us in many ways.

We are a counselling and wellbeing service providing support for adults, children businesses schools and communities. We change the way people get help with facing life’s challenges by providing private, affordable, confidential and convenient support and access to a trained therapist. My Solution Wellbeing provides professional counselling anywhere, through a computer, tablet or smartphone or face to face.

After you contact us, we will match you to an available counsellor who fits your objectives, required preferences, and the type of concerns you are dealing with. Different counsellors have different approaches and areas of focus and you can find this here, so it’s important to find the right person who can achieve the best results for you and your areas of concern. We have found that we are able to provide a successful match; however, if you have a session with a therapist and you feel your counsellor isn’t a good fit for you, you are course able to change this and be matched to a different counsellor. It is led by you.

Our counsellors are all qualified, experienced trained, and accredited. They have a different approaches such as Person Centered, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focussed Therapy and much more. They have been qualified and certified by their professional board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training and practice. While their experience, expertise and background vary, they all possess at least 5 years’ experience and extensive hands-on experience. Click here to learn more about the counsellors.

We take this very seriously and as a result, our team ensures that each therapist is fully qualified vetted and in good standing. Counsellors are required to provide documentation, proof of identity, and references. We thoroughly cross-check their qualifications, references and information as well as completing a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) Check. Our head of Service will also ask for feedback from the client about the therapist should they wish to give it.

Sometimes life situations and circumstances rock us and it interferes in our ability to lead a balanced life and we feel unable to self-regulate our emotions and feelings. Whenever this happens and your happiness is compromised and this feeling prevents you from achieving your goals, we may be able to help. We have counsellors who are specialized in specific issues, such as stress, anxiety, anger, depressions, relationships, parenting, addictions, eating, sleeping, trauma, family conflicts, LGBT matters, transgender and transitioning, grief, religion, self esteem, abuse, sexual exploitation and more.

Payment is made prior to your session over the phone.

If you decide you would like further sessions, you can pay for further sessions by direct bank payment or payment machine.  You can discuss this with your therapist on how to book further sessions. There may be an option to have a reduced rate if you purchase a few sessions in advance. Please refer to blockbooking.

Payment must be made in advance of appointment.

 

If you can’t attend please give 48 hours notice and your appointment will be moved to a mutually agreed date. Failure to do this will result in payment lost. Please note we do not offer refunds, however, we can offer a credit note valid for 1 month.
